BMAT - The Test

The Biomedical Admissions Test (BMAT) was introduced in 2003 as part of the admissions process for entry to medicine and high demand medically related courses.  The test combines aptitude and reasoning skills with an assessment of scientific knowledge and, significantly, application.  The varied nature of the test has helped the admissions process by giving a more rounded guide to strengths and weaknesses.   Propensity for problem solving utilising knowledge, as well as the development of reasoning skills relating to data, graphic and linguistic interpretation, are highlighted across the three sections that form the test.
